1050 Aluminum pipe/tube is a commercially pure aluminum product (99.5% minimum aluminum content) prized for its excellent corrosion resistance, high thermal/electrical conductivity, and superior formability. With a typical tensile strength of 60-95 MPa (8,700-13,800 psi) and elongation of 35-45%, it offers exceptional ductility for deep drawing, spinning, and cold working processes.
This makes it ideal for chemical equipment, lighting fixtures, and food processing systems where purity and malleability are prioritized over strength. The material's natural oxide layer provides outstanding atmospheric corrosion resistance, while its non-toxic surface meets food-grade and pharmaceutical industry standards.
As the softest common aluminum pipe variant, 1050 demonstrates unmatched workability and weldability across fabrication methods. Its high reflectivity (over 80% for visible light) and thermal conductivity (220 W/m·K) make it particularly valuable in heat exchangers, reflector panels, and electrical bus bars.
While unsuitable for structural applications due to low mechanical strength, its lightweight (2.71 g/cm³), cost-effectiveness, and recyclability ensure widespread use in decorative trims, signage, and low-pressure piping systems. The alloy's compatibility with anodizing and polishing further expands its aesthetic applications in architectural and consumer products.
